On 8 March 2019 the world celebrates International Women’s Day, but what is International Women’s Day you might ask. Is it only to be celebrated by feminists? We believe the answer is no. International Women’s Day is a day to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women all over the globe. It doesn’t apply to one specific country, organisation, political group or individual, it is a celebration to all and calls for equality between men and women everywhere.
The United Nation promotes this day as a celebration and reflection on how far we have come and how far we still have to go to truly achieve gender equality.
